India and Japan have agreed to restart talks on nuclear energy deal which have been stalled since the March accident at Fukushima nuclear power plant. The two sides agreed to strengthen working level discussions so as to advance the deal. Japan's Foreign Minister met with his Indian counterpart S.M. Krishna in Tokyo on Saturday.

He added that he informed India on Japanese position on nuclear disarmament and nuclear non-proliferation. After the talks the Indian Foreign Minister said he is optimistic about the negotiations. If concluded the agreement would allow Japan to sell nuclear related technology to India.
