India and Japan have agreed to enhance cooperation in the field of infrastructural development, specially in roads sector. The Japanese Senior Vice Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, Me Ken Okuda today met the Union Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways, Jitin Prasad in New Delhi in this regard. During the meeting, both the Ministers agreed to enhance cooperation in pursuance of the decisions in the Prime Minister level meeting held last year and agreed for enhancing cooperation on infrastructure development, especially in road sector.
During the meeting Mr Jitin Prasad informed about various objectives and the focus areas which have been identified including expressway corridors, use of modern technology for intelligent transport system including electronic toll collections.
The Japanese Minster also shared various initiatives taken by Japanese government for infrastructural development.
