He said both the countries will be a force of peace, stability and prosperity in Asia and in the world.

Government of Japan also tweeted that Tokyo is excited to welcome Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe also said that visit of Mr. Modi will deepen the bilateral relations.

The Prime Minister's Office tweeted that 5 agreements were signed between India and Japan in the field of health, women development, clean energy, roads sector and on Kyoto-Varanasi.

In a series of tweets, the PMO said that Prime Minister has thanked his friend and termed this visit as a new dawn in India-Japan relations.

In a series of tweets by the PMO a short while ago, it said both Prime Ministers of India and Japan are connected through social media. Mr Modi also invited people to communicate with him through social media.

Delivering the special lecture at the University of Sacred Heart in Tokyo this morning Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that India and Japan as democratic nations, should go ahead with positive thinking.

He said instead of thinking about others, focus should be on our own issue. He said, education of girls has been given high priority in India.

Mr Modi said, as Chief Minister of Gujarat for 14 years, he had auctioned all the gifts he had received and spent that Rs 78 crores on girls' education.

AIR correspondent reports that the Tokyo Declaration for Japan -India Special Strategic and Global Partnership is likely to take bilateral relations of both the countries to a new high.

The visit of Prime Minister is not restricted in strategic and political issues only.

Modi has shown keen interest in the moral values, technology, society, culture and education systems of Japan along with showcasing the culture and heritage of India.

Interacting with students in University of Sacred Heart, he invited Japanese students to visit India. The Prime Minister on his penultimate day of his 5 day long Japan visit will meet Emperor of Japan and address seminar and business meet.

The Prime Minister will also interact with the Indian community living in Tokoyo.

Japan has agreed to invest Rs 2.10 lakh crore in India in the next five years.

Addressing a joint press conference in Tokyo yesterday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, both the countries decided to set a target of doubling Japan’s FDI and the number of Japanese companies in India in the next five years under Japan- India Investment Promotion Partnership.

Mr Modi also said that Japan has decided to remove ban on several Indian companies. He also said, there is considerable progress in negotiations on civil nuclear cooperation between the two nations.
