Foreign Secretary S Jaishankar has said, India and Japan have agreed for wide range technology cooperation in the field of defence. Briefing media on the side lines of India Japan Annual Summit in Gandhi Nagar he said, that India is looking in terms of technology cooperation and equipment collaboration both in defence and dual use of technology.<br/><br/>The Foreign Secretary said, both the sides have agreed for cooperation in maritime security in Indo Pacific region. He said, that expansion of joint exercises and cooperation in areas like humanitarian assistance and disaster relief, peacekeeping operations, and counter terrorism were also discussed.<br/><br/>Mr. Jaishankar also said that both the countries have discussed a deal to buy Japanese ShinMaywa US-2 amphibious aircraft, but there was no final decision on it.
