India and Italy have stressed the need to strengthen the cultural bilateral relations between the two countries. This decision was taken when an Italian Parliamentary delegation under the Chairmanship of Mr. Sandro Gozi called on Minister of Culture Km. Selja in New Delhi today.
An official release said that during their 50 minutes meeting both sides recalled historic and rich cultural bilateral relations and stressed the need to strengthen them further. Welcoming the delegation, Km. Selja said, the visit of the parliamentarians will help in understanding the matters of mutual interests in the field of culture.
She said, both the countries can benefit immensely by promoting and
exchanges of Art exhibitions, Museum, Artisans, Fashion shows, Cinema
and more people to people contact between the two countries.
The visiting delegation showed keen interest in initiatives taken by the government in empowering Youth and Women and measures to fight against poverty.
