External Affairs Ministry called in senior officials of the Pakistan High Commission yesterday and made a demarche on continued violation of ceasefire along the Line Of Control and also condemned the increased of concentration of terrorists observed across the border in the vicinity of Pakistani forward posts. <br/><br/>Briefing media in New Delhi this evening, Ministry spokesperson Vikas Swarup said this is the third such demarche this month. <br/><br/>India conveyed that despite calls for restraint, Pakistani forces have committed 12 ceasefire violations between 9th and 15th November during which Pakistan army deliberately resorted to caliber escalation by employing artillery and 120 millimetre heavy mortars against Indian posts. He said these violent acts constitute a clear violation of the ceasefire agreement of 2003. <br/><br/>Government has also protested the deliberate targeting by the Pakistan army of 14 villages along LoC which had resulted in four fatal and 25 non fatal casualties besides causing damage to public and private property. <br/><br/>India has also conveyed its strong condemnation of the increase in concentration of terrorists observed across the Line of Control in the vicinity of Pakistani forward posts.<br/><br/>Mr Swarup said during the last week alone, there have been 18 instances where terrorists attempted to infiltrate into the Indian side from the vicinity of Pakistani posts and also targeted Indian posts and patrols.<br/><br/>Government also reiterated its concerns about the safety and well being of Sepoy Chandu Babulal Chavan who inadvertently crossed the LoC over six weeks back and urged his early repatriation and safe return.
