India has issued a demarche to Iran after its supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei made a controversial statement on Kashmir. Official sources said that New Delhi has conveyed its deep disappointment and regret over the statement to Tehran saying it has chosen to disregard India's sensivities besides questioning the country's territorial integrity. Sources said that the Joint Secretary in the External Affairs Ministry Y.K.Sinha summoned the Iranian charge d' affairs to South Block and conveyed New Delhi's sentiments. Our correspondent adds that this is not for the first time that an Iranian leader has made such a statement.
