India is ready from the supply side to launch flex fuel called E20 fuel, says Hardeep Singh Puri

<p style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #222222;">Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri has said, India is ready from the supply side to launch flex fuel called E20 fuel, which will be available from April next year. E-20 fuel is a blend of 20 percent ethanol with petrol. He said, the government already advanced the target of 20 percent blending of ethanol by 5 years from 2030 to 2025.</span></p>''<p style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;"><br />''</p>''<p style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #222222;">Mr Puri was addressing the International Conference on Biofuels – A Pathway Towards Sustainable Future in New Delhi today.</span></p>''<p style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;"><br />''</p>''<p style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #222222;">The Minister assured the automobile manufacturers that there will be a guaranteed consumer demand for flex-fuel and E20-compatible vehicles in the country. He said, the government will provide comprehensive support from the supply, policy, and demand side for making the sale of flex-fuel vehicles, which will be a viable business proposition for the auto industry.</span></p>''<p style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;"><br />''</p>''<p style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #222222;">The Minister said, achieving E20 blending with petrol by 2025 would help India save foreign exchange worth about 30 thousand crores rupees per annum. </span></p>''<p style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;"><br />''</p>''<p style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #222222;">He further informed that the number of petrol pumps selling biofuels has increased three folds from 29 thousand 897 in 2016-17 to 67 thousand 641 in 2021-22. Mr Puri said, India's ethanol demand is poised to grow to 10.16 billion liters by 2025.</span></p>
