Speaking at the event, Mr. Yadav said that India is generating about 3.5 million tonnes of plastic waste and it has almost doubled in the last five years.<br />''<br />''He said, these initiatives such as a National Dashboard on Elimination of Singal Use Plastic and Plastic Waste Management developed by his ministry solve the environmental issues.<br />''<br />''He emphasized that it will also help to bring all stakeholders including Central Ministries, Departments, State, and Union Territories Governments to one place and track the progress made for elimination of Single-Use Plastic and effective management of plastic waste.<br />''<br />''The Minister said that Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) Portal for Plastic Packaging will improve accountability, traceability, transparency, and facilitate ease of reporting compliance to EPR Obligations by Producers, Importers, and Brand-owners in line with notified guidelines.<br />''<br />''He said, Further Single-Use Plastic Compliance Monitoring Portal and Mobile App for Single-Use Plastics Grievance Redressal will empower citizens to check the plastic menace. These e-governance tools on plastic will be integrated with Central Pollution Central Board Portal for Plastic waste management.<br />''<br />''On the occasion, Minister of State for Environmental, Forest, and Climate Change Ashwani Chaubey said that his ministry is working on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision Single Use Plastic-free India.</span><br />
