Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said India is a land of possibilities with excellent human resources and a technological base. Addressing the Business Leaders Forum along with his Japanese counterpart Shinzo Abe in New Delhi today, Mr. Modi said, Make in India programme is proceeding in mission mode, not just in India, but also in Japan. He said the "Japan Plus" initiative that began last year as a policy experiment, is also doing well. He said, he wants India and Japan to move ahead together, not just in the sphere of high-speed trains, but also for high-speed growth, recalling his visit to Japan last year and the commitment of 35 billion dollars of investment made by Japan.<br/><br/>Indian Prime Minister said the figure had surprised many at that time, but today, within a short time-span, unimaginable progress had been made. He said the contours of this investment are beginning to get visible on the ground. He also recalled that Japan had been a part of many key economic turning points in India, like Maruti car, and Dedicated Freight Corridor. Mr. Modi said, for the first time Japan will import Maruti Suzuki cars from India. Referring to recent growth in Index of Industrial Production numbers, the Prime Minister said, it reflects that India is a country of opportunities, especially in the light of the global economic slowdown.<br/><br/>In his address, Mr. Shinzo Abe said in implementation of economic policies, Mr. Modi is as fast as bullet train and it is safe , reliable and carrying many people along. He said strong India is good for Japan and a strong Japan is good for India.<br/><br/>Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, who arrived in New Delhi Friday on a three-day visit is expected to discuss progress towards India's first bullet train and a civil nuclear deal at summit level talks with Mr. Modi in a short while from now. <br/><br/>Accompanied by Mr. Modi, the Japanese Prime Minister will visit Varanasi, Mr. Modi's parliamentary constituency. He will attend Ganga Aaarti there alongwith Mr. Modi.
