External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj today held delegation level talks with her Iranian counterpart Mohammad Javad Zarif on host of issues to strengthen the bilateral relations. Mrs Swaraj, who reached Tehran last night on the first leg of her four-day visit to Iran and Russia, began her day today with engagements with the Indian community in the Iranian capital. She also visited a Gurudwara and a community school. The Minister assured community members that she will raise issues concerning them with the Iranian leadership.<br/><br/>Mrs Swaraj's Iran visit is aimed at stepping up engagement in a range of areas, including oil and trade, as the strategically important Persian Gulf nation is now ready to resume business after sanctions were lifted under a historic nuclear deal. Mrs Swaraj will also call on Iranian President Hassan Rouhani.
