India has signed a loan agreement of 100 million US dollar with the World Bank for its Low Income Housing Finance Project. An official release said, the objective of the project is to provide access to sustainable housing finance for low income households to purchase, build or upgrade their dwellings. The loan agreement to this efffect was signed between the Centre and the World Bank in New Delhi yesterday.The project also aims at reaching a higher proportion of lower income households while maintaining portfolio quality standards.
