India and Indonesia reiterated today their commitment to expand existing commercial relations as well as identifying new sectors of economic cooperation between the two countries. Addressing India – Indonesia Business Forum meeting in Jakarta today, Vice-President Md Hamid Ansari, who is on a four day visit to Indonesia, said there is a great potential for Indian companies in sectors like automotive, engineering products, IT, pharmaceuticals, bio-technology and healthcare. He urged the Indonesian companies to explore opportunities of investing in infrastructure and manufacturing sector in India.<br/><br/>During the meeting, Md Hamid Ansari and his Indonesian counterpart Jusuf Kala emphasized on increasing trade and investment between the two countries. Mr. Ansari said, there is a need to balance bilateral trade as India's import from Indonesia was 15 billion US dollars against an export of 4 billion US dollars in last year. <br/><br/>The Vice President met chairpersons of both the houses of Indonesian parliament at Jakarta. Later he reached Bali where he will inaugurate a bust of Mahatma Gandhi and address at Udayana University tomorrow.
