In Jakarta, the first meeting of the India-Indonesia CEO's forum is being held today on the sidelines of the Prime Minister's visit. The forum was established in 2011 following the visit of the Indonesian President Yudhoyono to India. 36 commercial organizations from both the countries are participating in it. Commerce Minister Anand Sharma will attending the meeting. Our correspondent reports that India – Indonesia bilateral trade reached to US$20 billion last year. It has increased almost five times since India established a strategic partnership with Indonesia in 2005. Indian companies view Indonesia as an attractive investment destination. They have significant presence in infrastructure, power, textiles, automotive and FMCG manufacturing sectors. The CEO forum has been formed to enhance bilateral economic relations. The two day meeting will discuss various trade and investment issues besides identifying key sectors of cooperation. Companies which are participating include Indo Rama Synthetics, Tata International, Bharat Heavy Electricals ltd from India and KADIN, Sintesa, Sigma Sembada and Indomobil from Indonesia. India is focusing on achieving a bilateral trade target of US$25 billon by 2015 and these initiatives would set a road map for it.
