India in pre-Quarter-finals of World Team Squash

India have entered pre-quarter finals of the World Team Squash Championship being held in Nimes, France. India clinched pole position in Pool G after despatching 17th seeds Argentina 3-0 in the biennial event taking place in France for the first time.The event boasts a record entry of 26 nations. Earlier, India upset seventh seeds Ireland in their tournament opener. Seeded 10th in the event, Anaka Alankamony led the way for India, beating Maria Eugenia Bonilla 11-4, 11-4 ,11-7, before second string Joshana Chinappa overcame Cecilia Cerquetti 11-6 ,11-3, 11-4. In the final match, India's star Dipika Pallikal who is world No.13, defeated her opponent ranked more than 100 places below 11-8, 11-7, 11-8.
