India hopes Sri Lanka will deal with Fonseka according to law

India today expressed confidence that due process of law will be observed with regard to the detention of former Chief of Defence staff of Sri Lanka, retired General, Sarath Fonseka. <br/><br/>Responding to a question on the detention of General Fonseka, an External Affairs Ministry spokesman said that India is in touch with the Sri Lankan government in this connection. Fonseka was taken into custody by the Sri Lankan military on Monday, alleging that he was planning a coup against President, Rajapaksa.<br/>
