India hold on Australia to 1-1 draw in Azlan Shah Cup

In the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup hockey tournament at Ipoh, Malaysia, today, India held world and Olympic champion Australia to a 1-1 draw. Jacob Whetton put the Aussies ahead in the 14th minute. But a resolute India scored the equaliser through Rupinder Pal Singh when he converted a penalty corner in the 22nd minute. In their earlier two encounters, India were victorious against Great Britain yesterday, after losing their first match to South Korea on the opening day. In two other matches today, while Britain defeated Pakistan 3-2, South Korea and New Zealand played out a One-One draw.
