The Planning Commission Deputy Chairman Mr Montek Singh Ahluwalia has said that India has a capacity to grow at 9 per cent. Addressing the 20th year Asian Corporate Conference in New Delhi this evening, Mr Ahluwalia said that the growth rate of India in 2010-11 will be 8.5 per cent which will grow to 9 per cent in next fiscal. He lamented the fact that international monetary fund (IMF) was consistently under estimating India's growth taking it at 7 per cent. Mr Ahluwalia said the Indian economy is not heavily driven by export but by domestic demands. He, however said that in terms of demands India needs to step up investment in the export sector.
