Another boxer Suranjoy Mayengbam Singh won the gold without having to fight the final bout.He got a walkover as his opponent Benson Njangiru of Kenya did not turn up. Paramjeet Samota won the gold in the super heavy weight category defeating Tariq Abdul Haqq of Trinidad and Tobago.
