India, Germany to increase cooperation in science, tech & education

India and Germany are to increase cooperation in science and technology and education. They also discussed ways to increase cooperation in vocational training, trade and economic links between the countries. An official statement said Commerce and Industry Minister Anand Sharma met the First Mayor of Hamburg Olaf Scholz during his 5 day visit and discussed bilateral issues including increasing trade and economic links.

Sharma also participated in the inaugural event of 'Days of India in Germany', commemorating the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the countries.

A statement of CII said that businessmen of both the countries also emphasised the increase cooperation in areas of infrastructure, ports, life sciences, IT and waste water management. CII took a large business delegation with Sharma.

Currently, the bilateral trade between the two countries stands at 24 billion dollars.
