India and Germany have agreed to launch soon a technology centre in New Delhi for carrying out research development projects. The two countries have agreed to provide five million dollors annually for the centre for five years. The objective of setting up this centre is to bring about synergy among the scientists of the two countries in scientific research. A decision to this effect was taken in a meeting between the Secretary, Department of Science and Technology, Mr C.T. Ramaswami and the Parliamentry Secretary of German Federal, Ministry of Education and Research Thomas Rachal. AIR correspondent reports that Germany has already proposed to set up a house of science and innovation in New Delhi for showcasing competence and innovative strength of German scientists in India.
