India fully prepared to meet security Challenges: Chidambaram

The Home Minister, Mr. P.Chidambaram has said that India's capacity to deal with challenges to its security is better than it was two years ago. Addressing a press conference in New Delhi, he said that several important steps have been taken during this period and the implementation has gathered pace despite the usual administrative bottlenecks. Mr. Chidambaram expressed the confidence that the scenario will even be better in future. He also said that the National Counter Terrorism Centre is expected to become operational by the end of 2011 if a decision on its inception is taken by this year end. The Home Minister said that discussion paper on National Counter Terrorism Centre is ready and deliberations have been held at different level. He said that Intelligence Bureau is also setting up four more regional training centre.
