India, France reiterate need for urgent reform of UN

India and France today reiterated the need for urgent reform of the United Nations, including its security council to make it more representative of contemporary world. <br/><br/>In a joint statement issued on Monday evening, the two countries decided to counter terrorism. French President Francois Hollande and Prime Minister Narendra Modi agreed to intensify cooperation between Indian and French security forces in the fields of homeland security, cyber security and intelligence-sharing to fight against criminal networks. <br/><br/>Both countries reaffirmed their commitment to responsible and sustainable development of civil nuclear energy with highest consideration to safety , security, non proliferations and environmental protections. <br/><br/>They agreed to encourage their industrial companies to conclude techno-commercial negotiations for construction of six nuclear power reactor units at Jaitapur by the end of this year. <br/><br/>The two nations also agreed on a road map of cooperation to speed up discussions on the Jaitapur nuclear plant.
