India and Finland today signed three agreements to boost cooperation in science and technology. The agreements were signed during the India-Finland Technology Partnership Forum meeting in New Delhi in the presence of the Science and Technology Minister Mr. Prithviraj Chavan and Finnish. Speaking on the occasion Mr Chavan said India is committed to more than double the spending on science and technology, to up to two per cent of the GDP.<br/><br/>Citing the example of Finland, the minister asked the Indian industry to spend more on the science sector and emphasised that government's role is to facilitate the creation of innovation-led enterprises.<br/>
