India extended a Line of Credit of 425 million US Dollars on Tuesday to Sri Lanka for three specific rail projects to be executed in the war ravaged Northern Province by IRCON International Limited (IRCON), a Union Government company under the Ministry of Railways.<br/><br/>A statement by the Indian High Commission identified the projects as track laying on the Omanthai-Pallai and Madhu-Tallaimannar sectors and supply of rolling stock by RITES for Northern Sri Lanka. The decision is part of India’s continued commitment to reconstruction and rehabilitation efforts in northern Sri Lanka and reflects the close and cordial bilateral relations shared by the two countries’.<br/>
