India has told Pakistan that, the least it expected from Islamabad was tangible results in the investigations and prosecutions into the Mumbai terror attacks case. External Affairs Minister S. M Krishna said in New York that we have suggested to the Government of Pakistan that the perpetrators of the terror attacks on Mumbai must be brought to justice. Speaking soon after the two-hour long meeting Krishna had with his Pakistani counterpart Shah Mahmood Qureshi, he said further talks between the two countries would depend on concrete action taken by Islamabad on the Mumbai attacks, particularly in the upcoming trials.

Earlier, Qureshi told the media that Pakistan had arrested seven people in connection with the Mumbai carnage and their prosecutions would begin on the 3rd of next month. Qureshi said, Pakistan wants to see this trial to a logical conclusion. In response to Qureshi's announcement that Pakistan would begin trials of the suspects, including LeT operations commander Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi and computer and communications expert Zarar Shah, Krishna said India would not monitor the proceedings as the development is taking place in a friendly country like Pakistan.
