India and the European Union, EU have launched a six-million Euros skill development project for disadvantaged and marginalised youth lacking formal education.
Launching the project in New Delhi on Wednesday, Secretary in the Ministry of Labour and Employment Dr Mrutyunjay Sarangi said, it is an important step towards achieving the goal of having 500 million skilled people in the country by 2022.
EU Ambassador to India Joao Cravinho said, with this project, EU and India will engage in tackling issues like new skills for the ever changing employment market.
AIR correspondent reports the project will focus on to improve the quality of training and increase the number of certified skilled labourers in the identified sectors of employment.
