India enters World Cup Final with flying colours

In the second semi-final of the ICC Cricket World Cup at Mohali, India beat Pakistan by 29 runs to enter the final. Chasing a challenging victory target of 261 runs against India, Pakistan were all out for 231 in 49.5 overs.Earlier, electing to bat after winning the toss, India were off to a good start through an opening partnership of 48 between Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag. But the co-hosts could not sustain the tempo and managed to reach 260 for 9 in the allotted 50 overs.Tendulkar top-scored with 85. Suresh Raina remained unbeaten on 36. Other notable contributors were: Sehwag 38, Gautam Gambhir – 27 and Skipper M.S. Dhoni 25. For Pakistan, pacer Wahab Riaz finished with his career best bowling figures of 5 for 46, while Misbah-ul-Haq was the top scorer with 56 runs.
