India have regained their place in the Elite World Group in Davis Cup Tennis by beating Brazil 3-2 on the third and final day of the World Group Play-off Tie at Chennai. The hosts clinched both their reverse singles matches on Sunday, thereby winning their first ever Davis Cup Tie from a 0-2 deficit. Somdev Devvarman defeated World Number 27, Thomas Belluci 7-6, 4-0 and Rohan Bopanna beat Ricardo Mello 6-3, 7-6, 6-3. India were forced into the play-offs after they lost to Russia 2-3 in the World Group first round in Moscow in March.
