Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) Chairman Shrikant Madhav Vaidya today said that the twin-cooktop model of solar cooking system launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi will help in reducing India's dependability upon the import of LGP. Talking to All India Radio at India Energy Week, 2023 in Bengaluru, Mr Vaiday said that currently, India is importing more than 50 per cent of its gas requirements from other countries. He added that with these kinds of initiatives,&nbsp;India will move towards Atamnirbhar Bharat and also help in reducing the greenhouse gases coming from the LPG.<br />''<br />''Talking about the 'Unbottled' initiative he said that In line with the clarion call given by Prime Minister, to phase out single-use plastic items, IOC has launched largest initiative in world to reuse and recycle 100 million PET bottles per year.<br />''<br />''AIR correspondent reports that to decarbonise the economy and promote the clean energy transition, in the country Prime Minister Modi launched three major green initiatives at India Energy Week 2023, twin-cooktop model of the solar cooking system, a scheme to phase out single-use plastic, and launched the E20 fuel, which is 20 per cent Ethanol blending in petrol. Under the Unbottled Project, the Indian Oil Corporation will recycle 100 million PET bottles annually to make eco-friendly uniforms for staff working at its petrol pumps and LPG distributor agencies.&nbsp;<br />''<br />''<span style="color: #222222;">Meanwhile, the commercial rollout of the indoor solar cooking system will be seen as a major step to promote clean and environment-friendly cooking solutions. According to IOC, If this cooking system reaches 30 million households by 2025-26, it would lead to savings in LPG cost by more than 1 lakh crore Rupees and forex savings of 50,000 crore Rupees. The agency also claims that it also helps in CO2 emissions reduction by 50 million tonnes and marketable carbon credits worth about 4,000 crore Rupees.</span><br />
