India emerges as world's biggest renewable energy lab: Richard Verma

US envoy Richard Verma has said India has emerged as the biggest renewable energy lab in the world and is at the threshold of dynamic growth in the deployment of smart grid technology. Mr Verma yesterday visited Tata Power Delhi Distribution's Smart Grid Lab in Rohini and Tata Power grid connected 225 KW Solar Power Plant in the vicinity. <br/><br/>He said, it is great to see how the US government, companies and Tata Power grid are collaborating towards the use of smart technology for the common good. Chief Executive Officer of Tata Power-DDL, Praveer Sinha said, he strongly believes that the Indo-US collaboration in the power sector especially related to new technology implementations can help India meet its rising energy demand.
