India has emerged as the largest exporting country to Dubai. According to the latest figures for the third quarter in 2011-12 released by Dubai Customs, Indian exports at around 18 billion dollars contributed to around 20.25 per cent of the trade.It is followed by China with exports around 11 percent and US around 8 percent of the trade.India is also the leading importer from Dubai with imports in the third quarter around 8.3 billion dollars.It is followed by Switzerland and Saudi Arabia. In the re-exporting segment, again , India has topped the list with trade worth 12 billion dollars, which is more than 35 per cent of total re-exports in Dubai.Talking to All India Radio, the Indian Ambassador to United Arab Emirates M.K. Lokesh said the growth of trade is a reflection of growing Indo-UAE trade ties.The Ambassador said the two countries would be looking forward to enhance the co-operation in different sector.India incidentally is the largest trading partner with UAE with the total trade in 2010-11 around 67 billion dollars.
