India earns revenue of nearly 22 mn Euro in 2012-13

India earned a revenue of nearly 22 million Euro in 2012-13 by launching satellites of foreign countries. Germany topped the list with eight satellite launches followed by Canada with five, Japan three and Austria, Denmark and Switzerland two each. The other countries whose satellites were launched by India include Argentina, Algeria, Belgium, France, Indonesia, Israel, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, South Korea, Singapore, Turkey and United Kingdom. Giving this information in the Lok Sabha today, Minister of State in PMO V. Narayanasamy said India launches satellites from foreign countries on a commercial basis. Till date ISRO has launched four satellites built by Indian universities free of cost and 35 from foreign countries, he said.
