India today agreed to support the management of Sree Sree Jashomadav Mandir at Dhamrai in Dhaka to build a new Rath. India’s High Commissioner to Bangladesh, Mr. Pinak Ranjan Chakravarty signed an MOU with the Mandir’s Management Committee to support the building of the 39 feet rath made of steel and timber. The original rath was destroyed during the Liberation war of 1971. The Rath will have nine domes on the top and will be decorated with intricate art work. The annual Rath Yatra of the Dhamrai temple is an important festival of Bangladesh. The project is a part of the continuing cooperation and ongoing support extended by Government of India to various agencies and institutions in Bangladesh to strengthen the bonds of friendship between the two countries. <br/>
