India has demonstrated a reduction in key health indicators like maternal mortality rate,MMR which declined much faster as compared to global rate.<br/><br/>In a written reply to a question in the Lok Sabha,Minister of State for Health Faggan Singh Kulaste said, the country has demonstrated reduction in key health indicators such as infant mortality rate, maternal mortality rate and under 5 mortality rate.<br/><br/>He said, the annual average pace of decline in MMR for the period 1990 to 2013 was much faster in India which is 4.5 per cent as compared to global rate of 2.6 per cent. He said, in addition to it, mortality due to various diseases has also reduced.
