India demands credible action by Pakistan in 26/11 case
India has demanded credible action by Pakistan in the 26/11 terror attack case. Foreign Secretary Nirupama Rao said on Tuesday that core issue of addressing the country's concerns on the Mumbai carnage will be part of Foreign Secretary level talks with Pakistan. This is considered as the first step towards restoring trust and confidence between the two countries.

The talks assume importance as they take place ahead of the home minister's discussions with his Pakistani counter part where he is expected to press for action against the terrorists responsible for attacks against India. Fresh initiative to reduce the trust deficit was taken after the Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh met his Pakistani counterpart Yousuf Raza Gilani in Thimphu on the margins of the SAARC Summit in April this year. Observers are hopeful that the fresh round of talks will pave the way for a substantive dialogue.
