India defeated Sri Lanka by four wickets in the second match of the on-going Tri-Series One-Day cricket tournament. At Perth today, set to score 234 runs for a win, India achieved the target in 46.4 overs. The unbroken seventh-wicket partnership between Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravinder Jadeja yielded 53 runs. While Ashwin was unbeaten on 30, Jadeja was not out on 24. Virat Kohli was the top scorer with a fine 77. Sachin Tendulkar was out for 48. Earlier, electing to bat after winning the toss, Sri Lanka made 233 for 8 in the stipulated 50 overs. Dinesh Chandimal made 64. Ashwin who also took three wickets in the Sri Lankan innings was declared 'Man of the Match'. India had lost to hosts Australia in their opening encounter on Sunday.The Third Match of the Tri-Series will be played between Australia and Sri Lanka at Perth on Friday.
