In Cricket, India defeated Sri Lanka last night by six wickets in the third and final T-20 match in Dharamsala to clean sweep the series 3-0. India were off to an impressive start after Sri Lanka chose to bat first. Avesh Khan and Mohammed Siraj took three wickets each in the first six overs itself. With Ravi Bishnoi scalping one more, Sri Lanka were struggling at 29/4 in 8 overs. Dasun Shanaka then played the captain's knock with 74 runs off just 38 balls taking the visitor's total to 146 for the loss of 5 wickets.
India chased down the target in 16.5 overs losing four wickets. Shreyas Iyer scored unbeaten 73 runs off 45 balls to help India register consecutive 12th victory in the T-20 format. He was adjudged player of the match and player of the series for his impressive performance in all three matches. India equalled the world record of Afghanistan for the most successive victories in T-20.
Both the teams will now play two tests, beginning from 4th of next month. The first test will be played at Mohali and the second in Bengaluru.
