India have taken a massive first innings lead of 405 runs in the second Cricket Test against Sri Lanka at Nagpur. Replying to the visitors' meagre first innings total of 205, the hosts declared their first innings closed at 610 for 6 during the post-Tea session on the third day today. Skipper Virat Kohli top-scored with a fine 213. The other notable scorers were Cheteshwar Pujara -143, Murali Vijay -128 and Rohit Sharma, who remained unbeaten on 102. Overall Sri Lanka were trailing by 384 runs with nine second innings wickets in hand at stumps. Dimuth Karunaratne on 11 and Lahiru Thirimanne on 9 were at the crease. Sadeera Samarawickrama was out without scoring.The scores so far:- Sri Lanka – 205 and 21 for One. India – 610 for six declared.The first test of the 3-match series had ended in a draw at Kolkata .
