India crush Windies in Eden Test, take 2-0 lead

Hosts India defeated the West Indies by an innings and 15 runs, in the second cricket test at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. With this exceptional performance, MS Dhoni and Co. have clinched the 3-match series, 2-0. They had defeated the West Indies by 5 wickets in the first test at Delhi.Earlier today, the West Indies resumed the day on the overnight score of 195 for 3, before Shivnarine Chanderpaul deflected Umesh Yadav's outside-the-off stump delivery right on to the wood work at 47.Chanderpaul's wicket was the only success for MS Dhoni in the first session, as the West Indies resisted brilliantly, cutting down a massive trail to below 100. The opening session of the day went to the West Indies, with Darren Bravo amassing his second test century. He made a valiant 136, which comprised 16 boundaries and 4 maximums. However, the hosts came back with all guns blazing in the post lunch session, with the spin duo of Pragyan Ojha and Ravichandran Ashwin leading the attack. Both the off spinners, who have had a great tournament so far, scalped 2 wickets each. However, it was Paceman Umesh Yadav, who hogged the limelight, taking 4 wickets in a delightful second innings burst.V.V.S. Laxman was adjudged man of the match, for his typically resilient 176.The West Indies were enforced a follow on yesterday, after the Darren Sammy's side bundled up for 153 in the first innings, in reply to Team India's 631-7. VVS Laxman, MS Dhoni and Rahul Dravid were the three centurians for India. The third and final test will be played at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai from the 22nd of November.
