India crosses new peak of conducting four crore tests so far

<span style="color: #222222;">India has crossed a new peak of conducting four crore tests till date. During the last 24 hours, more than nine lakh 28 thousand tests were conducted.<br />'' <br />'' The Health Ministry said, with focussed, consistent and coordinated efforts led by the Centre and implemented by the  State and Union Territories, India has set a new landmark of testing four crore four lakh 609 people.<br />'' <br />'' The Ministry said, India has come a long way from conducting just one test from the lab in Pune in January this year to crossing four crore tests milestone. This has boosted the Tests Per Million with a sharp increase to 29 thousand 280.<br />'' <br />'' India is following the strategic approach of Test, Track and Treat where testing forms the initial and crucial pillar of COVID response and management. The Ministry said, the national positivity rate has remained low at 8.57 per cent and is constantly falling. It is only by aggressive testing that positive cases are identified at an early stage, their close contacts can be promptly tracked and isolated.<br />'' <br />''<br />''The Health Ministry said, expanded diagnostic lab network and facilitation for easy testing across the country through several policy measures have given a substantial boost to this upsurge in national testing rates. There are as many as one thousand 576 labs in the country including one thousand two labs in the government sector and 574 private labs. </span>
