India creates sort of World Record in construction of toilets in last two years: Manoj Sinha

Communications Minister Manoj Sinha has said, India has created a sort of World Record in construction of toilets in the last two years. Speaking at the launch of the postage stamps to commemorate the completion of two years of the Swachh Bharat Mission in New Delhi today, Mr Sinha said, the mission has got a new impetus in the country after Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched it on 2nd October, 2014. <br/><br/>Paying tributes to Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shashtri on their birth anniversaries, Mr Sinha expressed happiness that on the occasion of second anniversary of Swachh Bharat Mission, one lakh villages have become Open Defecation Free. <br/><br/>Earlier today, Urban Development and Information and Broadcasting Minister M Venkaiah Naidu released the commemorative postage stamps on Swachh Bharat. Speaking on the occasion, Mr Naidu said, all the 170 towns of Gujarat and 110 cities of Andhra Pradesh have become Open Defecation Free today.<br/><br/>He said, Clean Mission is a national mission and the entire country has to work to achieve this goal. He appealed to the Youth of the country to come forward and take the responsibility of making India clean by 2019.
