India have crashed out of Azlan Shah hockey title race . Five times champions India's title hope was dashed to the ground after they suffered a 2-3 defeat against Argentina in a crucial match of the Azlan Shah Cup Hockey tournament in Ipoh, Malaysia on Wednesday. With this win, Argentina now have 9 points from five games while India remains at 6 from as many games.India suffered from their inability to capitalise on opening and also feeble defence to allow Argentina to call the shots. Two field goals soon after half-time gave Argentina the advantage and then conversion of a penalty corner ensured victory for the Pan American champions. The Indians fought hard and reduced the margin twice, but an equaliser eluded them in spite of repeated attacks into the rival's citadel. India will play its last league match tomorrow when they take on Pakistan.
