India has conveyed its commitment to achieving the full potential of its relationship with Maldives in line with India's Neighbourhood First policy. <br/><br/>External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj met visiting the Special Envoy of the President of Maldives and Foreign Minister Dr. Mohamed Asim in new Delhi today and discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relationship.<br/><br/>The Special Envoy reaffirmed his Government's India First policy and emphasized that Maldives attached the highest priority to its ties with India. He also called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his residence. <br/><br/>In a statement, MEA said, discussions centred around strengthening of the development partnership between India and Maldives and enhancing defence and security cooperation.
