India considering Pak's suggestion for talks on water, Sir Creek

India is actively considering Pakistan's proposal to hold discussion on the crucial issues of water and Sir Creek at the Secretary-level meeting. The third round of dialogue process which had resumed after the Mumbai attacks was stalled in January this year on account of problems at Line of Control. India is considering Pakistani proposal for dialogue on Wullar Barrage in August and Sir Creek in September.

AIR Correspondent report, the progress in the Secretary-level meeting will set the stage for Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's meeting with his Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Sharif in New York in September. New Delhi has already conveyed to Islamabad that Dr Singh is looking forward to his meeting with Mr Shariff soon after which Pakaistan came up with the dates for talks.
