India has condoled the unfortunate killing of Indian origin businessman Harnish Patel in Lancaster, USA. Sources in the External Affairs Ministry quoting County Sheriff said, this may not be a hate crime and local authorities are investigating the case. Consulate General of India (CGI) in Atlanta is in touch with the family. The sources further said, CGI has deputed a consular official to meet the family and offer condolences and any required assistance. <br/><br/>The CGI is also in touch with the local community organisations of expatriate Indians, including those from Gujarat.<br/><br/>Patel was shot dead outside his home at South Carolina on Thursday night. Last week, an Indian engineer Srinivas Kuchibhotla was killed in hate crime in the United States. President Donald Trump in his address to the joint session of the Congress had condemned the killing.
