India committed to strictly follow international food safety standards: Nadda

Union Health Minister J P Nadda said India is committed to strictly follow international food safety standards. <br/><br/>Addressing the 20th session of Food and Agriculture Organization and World Health Organization coordinating committee for Asia (CCASIA), in New Delhi today, Mr Nadda said there is a need for CCASIA to focus on standardization of foods, cuisines of Asian origin and popularize them internationally and facilitate their global trade. <br/><br/>He said the body should work on the communication strategy and standardization of processes, which shall be the contribution to Codex. He said there is an urgent need for enhancing awareness about the work of Codex in different countries and amongst key stakeholders. <br/><br/>The Health Minister added, the benefits of the work done by Codex Alimentarius could be further spread among all countries, especially in the developing countries that comprise almost 70 present of the world population.
