India is committed to partner with Bhutan in its socio-economic development. <br/><br/>Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu said this during his meeting with visiting King of Bhutan Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck in New Delhi today. Mr Naidu said India is delighted to see the rapid progress which has been made in the neighbouring country while simultaneously preserving its culture as well as protecting the environment. <br/><br/>The Vice President said India has been happy to share its knowledge, experience and resources with Bhutan and thus contribute to Bhutan's socio-economic development. <br/><br/>He said the security concerns of India and Bhutan are intertwined. Mr Naidu said, India looks forward to continuing close cooperation with Bhutan on issues of mutual security concern. Mr Naidu said India remains committed to consolidate existing hydro-power cooperation with Bhutan.<br/><br/>Timely implementation of the ongoing hydro-power projects with a minimum cost overrun is important for both governments. <br/><br/>He said, the two sides should do everything to make it a model of bilateral cooperation.<br/><br/>Earlier, Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Finance Minister Arun Jaitley called on the visiting King.
