India is committed to find an amicable resolution of standoff in Doklam tri-junction acceptable to concerned countries. New Delhi is engaged with Beijing through the diplomatic channels to maintain peace and tranquility in accordance with various bilateral agreements, MoU, protocol and joint statements. <br/><br/>In a written reply in the Lok Sabha today, Minister of State for External Affairs, Gen V K Singh said the government has also maintained constant communication with Bhutan over the issue. <br/><br/>He said, India has conveyed to Chinese side that its actions in Doklam amount to a significant change in the status quo which is not in consonance with the bilateral understandings reached between the two countries under the framework of the Special Representatives on the boundary question since the Doklam area is directly relevant for determination of the tri-junction point between India, China and Bhutan.<br/><br/> The Minister said the government of Bhutan has also conveyed the Chinese side that the status quo as before 16th June 2017 be maintained.
