India committed to fight against terrorism: M J Akbar

Minister of State for External Affairs M J Akbar said India is strongly committed to fight against terrorism. <br/><br/>Addressing the 17th International National Security Guard- NSG Seminar in New Delhi yesterday, Mr Akbar said the nations which support terrorism should be held accountable. <br/><br/>He said terrorism is a biggest threat to prosperity and peace will prevail when terrorism is eliminated. The Minister also said freedom of faith and religion, economic equity and democracy are important to defeat radicalisation and regressive ideas.

Minister of State for External Affairs M J Akbar said India is strongly committed to fight against terrorism. Addresseing the 17th International National Security Guard- NSG Seminar in New Delhi today, Mr Akbar said the nations which support terrorism should be held accountable.<br/><br/>He said terrorism is a biggest threat to prosperity and peace will prevail when terrorism is eliminated. The Minister said terrorism challenges the architecture of stability. He said the objective of terrorism is not about the casualty count, but to incite fear in pluralistic societies. <br/><br/>He also said freedom of faith and religion, economic equity and democracy are important to defeat radicalisation and regressive ideas. The Minister said India is geo-politically at the centre of East and West Asia and the future of Asia will be dependent on what happens in India. He said India will continue to march forward in peace and stability.<br/><br/>On the occasion, NSG DG Sudhir Pratap Singh said terrorism is cutting across boundaries and there is a need to change the mindset from fighting terrorism to defeat terrorism.<br/><br/>The MoS for Information and Broadcasting Col. Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore inaugurated the two-day seminar yesterday in Manesar, Haryana.
